We carry out assessments for General Learning Disability (GLD) (our reports are accepted by the Dept of Education etc). GLD is characterised by significantly below-average general intellectual ability, and its severity may range from mild to profound. Children with GLD show a reduced capacity to learn and a slow rate of cognitive maturation. They typically have a limited ability to grasp concepts, slow speech and language development, poor planning and problem-solving skills, as well as a poor aptitude for academic work. They often struggle with many aspects of daily living. Cognitive ability tests are used to identify GLD and their findings help guide recommendations regarding schooling, interventions etc.
